Sarah Clark Announces Campaign for Seattle School Board District 2 Re-election

SEATTLE - Current Seattle School Board Director and education policy expert Sarah Clark announced today her campaign for re-election to the District 2 position. Clark, who was appointed to the Board in 2024, brings both hands-on board experience and extensive policy expertise to her campaign.

"Our public schools are the backbone of our communities and anchors of our neighborhoods," said Clark. "As a product of Seattle Public Schools, current Board Director, and education policy expert, I understand both the challenges our district faces and the solutions needed to address them effectively."

Clark's experience spans from the classroom to the legislative chamber, where she successfully led coalitions to pass significant education reforms. As leader of the Early Learning Action Alliance, she brought diverse stakeholders together to improve early childhood education access and quality across Washington state.

"Seattle has the potential to be a leader in progressive education, but we're not delivering the outcomes our students deserve," Clark stated. "Every child must be served effectively - regardless of race, identity, income, or learning needs. This requires leadership that combines careful analysis with a commitment to action."

During her time on the Board, Clark has championed evidence-based decision making, meaningful community engagement, and fiscal responsibility. Her campaign will focus on extending successful programs while revising approaches that aren't working for Seattle's students.
